Yale's Student Technology Collaborative has grown by ~100 students and added 8 new public-facing centers in the past few years. This talk will cover our experiences handling the difficulties of rapid expansion and high management turnover; maintaining solid training and quality services with decreasing student-management face time; creating a student leadership force to train, manage, and recruit new student techs; and justifying the time and money costs of an educational, fun, student-community-driven program to a metrics- and service-focused IT organization. We'll also talk about homegrown automated tools we've developed to manage our students' shift scheduling, attendance, budgeting, and stats.
